EV Charging Stations from Perpetual Energy

The USA alone today needs 750,000 EV charging stations. And this number grows exponentially every year! Combined last year the US sold 13.6 million units, according to Experian (via Automotive News). Mar 18, 2023

The United States has a goal to have 50% of all vehicles sold each year be zero-emission by 2030. According to an analysis from McKinsey & Company, achieving this goal would put 48 million EVs, or 15% of all total vehicles, on the road in 2030. To facilitate this goal, the federal government’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL), also referred to as the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), provides $7.5 billion in funding for 500,000 public EV charging stations. There are five categories of EV charging stations currently in the US. Type 1, Type 2, Type 3, Type 4, and Rapid charging. Worldwide is even more cumbersome. See the image below.
